Fuel Injector Replacement (L12A/L13A without ETCS)

Fuel Injector Replacement

.Relieve fuel pressure.

.Remove the air cleaner.

.Remove the intake manifold.

.Disconnect the connectors from the injectors (A), and remove the harness crip (B) from the fuel rail (C).

.Disconnect the quick-connect fittings (D).

.Remove the fuel rail bracket (E).

.Remove the fuel rail mounting nuts (F) from the fuel rail.

.Remove the injector clip (G) from the injector.

.Remove the injector from the fuel rail.

.Coat the new O-rings (A) with clean engine oil, and insert the injectors (B) into the fuel rail (C).

.Install the injector clip (D).

.Coat the injector O-ring (E) with clean engine oil.

.To prevent damage to the O-rings, install the injectors in the fuel rail first, then install them in the injector base (F).

.Install the fuel rail mounting nuts. Install the fuel rail bracket (G).

.Connect the quick-connect fittings.

.Connect the connectors on the injectors, and install the harness clip (H).

.Install the intake manifold.

.Install the air cleaner.

.Turn the ignition switch ON (II), but do not operate the starter. After the fuel pump runs for approximately 2 seconds, the fuel pressure in the fuel line rises. Repeat this 2 or 3 times, then check for fuel leakage.
