DTC P1894: | Problem in CVT Speed Change Control Valve Circuit |
1. | Disconnect CVT speed change control valve connector. |
2. | Measure the resistance between connector terminals at the control valve connector.
Is the resistance 3.8-6.8 W? YES - Go to 3. NO - Faulty the CVT speed change control valve, replace the control valve body.n |
3. | Disconnect the battery negative terminal. |
4. | Disconnect PCM connectors B (24P) and C (22P). |
5. | Check for continuity between PCM connector terminal B24 and body ground, and between terminal C16 and body ground.
Are there continuity? YES - Repair short to ground in the wire between PCM connector terminal B24 and the CVT speed change control valve connector, and between terminal C16 and the CVT speed change control valve connector.n NO - Go to 6. |
6. | Reconnect CVT speed change control valve connector. |
7. | Measure the resistance between PCM connector terminals B24 and C16.
Is the resistance 3.8-6.8 W? YES - Update the PCM if it does not have the latest software, or subsutitute a known-good PCM, then recheck. If the symptom/ indication goes away with a known-good PCM, replace the original PCM.n NO - Repair loose terminal or open in the wires between PCM connector terminals B24 and C16, and the CVT speed change control valve connector.n |
