1. | Disconnect key switch connector. |
2. | Turn the ignition switch ON (II). |
3. | Measure the voltage between gauge assembly connector terminal B7 and body ground.
Is there voltage? YES - Go to 4. NO - Repair open or short in the wire between gauge assembly connector and the under-dash fuse/relay box.n |
4. | Connect key switch connector. |
5. | Measure the voltage between gauge assembly connector terminal B2 and body ground.
Is there voltage? YES - Go to 6. NO - Repair open or short in the wire between the key interlock solenoid connector and gauge assembly connector.n |
6. | Disconnect gauge assembly connector A (20P). |
7. | Check for continuity between gauge assembly connector terminal A17 and body ground while you move the shift lever in and out of [P] position.
Is there continuity with the shift lever in [P] position, and no continuity with the shift lever out of [P]? YES - Faulty key interlock system circuit in the gauge assembly, replace the gauge assembly.n NO - Check the park pin switch operation. If the switch is faulty, replace the shift lever detent bracket (the park pin switch is not available separately). If the switch is OK, repair open in the park pin switch wire between the switch and the gauge assembly.n |
