Throttle Body Cleaning (With ETCS)

Throttle Body Cleaning

Do not insert your fingers into installed throttle body when you turn the ignition switch ON (II) or while the ignition switch is ON (II). Otherwise, you will have serious injury to your fingers if the throttle body was activated.
Use Honda genuine carburetor cleaner.

1. Check for damage to the air cleaner.

2. Remove the throttle body.

3. Wipe off carbon from the throttle valve and inside of the throttle body with paper towel soaked carburator cleaner.

NOTE:
When cleaning the throttle body, remove the throttle body.
Be careful not to pinch fingers during clean.
Because molybdenum coat is rinsed out, do not clean the bearing area of throttle valve axis (A).
Do not spray the carburetor cleaner directly.

4. Install the throttle body.

5. Execute the ECM/PCM RESET in CLEAR MENU with the HDS.

6. Do the ETCS learn procedure.
