| DTC P0445: | EVAP Canister Purge Valve Circuit |
| 1. | Turn the ignition switch ON (II). |
| 2. | Do the DTC CLEAR in the CLEAR MENU with the HDS. |
| 3. | Start the engine, and let it idle. |
| 4. | Check for Temporary DTCs or DTCs in the DTCs MENU with the HDS. Is DTC P0445 indicated? YES - Go to 5. NO - Intermittent failure, system is OK at this time. Check for poor connections or loose terminals at the EVAP canister purge valve and the ECM.n |
| 5. | Turn the ignition switch OFF. |
| 6. | Disconnect the EVAP canister purge valve 2P connector. |
| 7. | Check for continuity between the EVAP canister purge valve 2P connector No. 2 and body ground.
Is there continuity? YES - Go to 8. NO - Go to 10. |
| 8. | Disconnect ECM connector No. 3 (52P). |
| 9. | Check for continuity between the EVAP canister purge valve 2P connector No. 2 and body ground.
Is there continuity? YES - Repair short in the wire between the ECM connector No. 3 terminal No. 26 (test pin box terminal No. 55) and the EVAP canister purge valve, then go to 17. NO - Go to 23. |
| 10. | At the EVAP canister purge valve side, measure resistance between the EVAP canister purge valve 2P connector terminals No. 1 and No. 2.
Is there about 30-34W at room temperature? YES - Go to 11. NO - Go to 15. |
| 11. | Turn the ignition switch OFF, and wait 10 seconds. |
| 12. | Disconnect ECM connector No. 3 (52P). |
| 13. | Turn the ignition switch ON (II). |
| 14. | Measure voltage between the EVAP canister purge valve 2P connector No. 2 and body ground.
Is there battery voltage? YES - Repair short to power in the wire between the ECM connector No. 3 terminal No. 26 (test pin box terminal No. 55) and the EVAP canister purge valve, then go to 17. NO - Go to 23. |
| 15. | Turn the ignition switch OFF. |
| 16. | Replace the EVAP canister purge valve. |
| 17. | Reconnect all connectors. |
| 18. | Turn the ignition switch ON (II). |
| 19. | Do the ECM RESET in the CLEAR MENU with the HDS. |
| 20. | Do the ETCS learn procedure. |
| 21. | Start the engine. |
| 22. | Check for Temporary DTCs or DTCs in the DTCs MENU with the HDS. Are any Temporary DTCs or DTCs indicated? YES - If DTC P0445 is indicated, check for poor connections or loose terminals at the EVAP canister purge valve and the ECM, then go to 1. If any other Temporary DTCs or DTCs are indicated, go to the indicated DTC troubleshooting. NO - Troubleshooting is complete.n |
| 23. | Substitute a known-good ECM. |
| 24. | Start the engine, and let it idle for 10 seconds. |
| 25. | Check for Temporary DTCs or DTCs in the DTCs MENU with the HDS. Are any Temporary DTCs or DTCs indicated? YES - If DTC P0445 is indicated, check for poor connections or loose terminals at the EVAP canister purge valve and the ECM, then go to 1. If any other Temporary DTCs or DTCs are indicated, go to the indicated DTC troubleshooting. |
