Never turn on the combination light switch before fitting the HID bulbs to their bulb sockets and completing the reassembly of the headlight assembly. |
1. | Check the No. 12 (15A) and No. 13 (15A) fuses in the under-hood fuse/relay box. Are the fuses OK? YES - Go to 2. NO - Replace the fuse(s), and recheck.n |
2. | Remove the front bumper. |
3. | Substitute a known-good HID bulb and recheck. Does the headlight come on? YES - Replace the original HID bulb.n NO - Go to 4. |
4. | Disconnect the 2P connector from the inverter unit. |
5. | Turn the combination light switch ON. |
6. | Measure voltage between the No. 2 terminal of the inverter unit 2P connector and body ground.
Is there battery voltage? YES - Go to 7. NO - Go to 9. |
7. | Turn the combination light switch OFF. |
8. | Check for continuity between the No. 1 terminal of the inverter unit 2P connecter and body ground.
Is there continuity? YES - Substitute a known-good inverter unit, and recheck. If the symptom/indication goes away, replace the original inverter unit.n NO - Repair open in the wire between the inverter unit and body ground. If the wire is OK, check for poor ground at G203 or G301.n |
9. | Check for voltage between the combination light switch connector No.1 terminal and body ground. Is there battery voltage? YES - Repair an open in the wire between the HID relay and inverter unit.n NO - Go to 9. |
10. | Remove the left and right HID relays from under the dashboard, and test the relays. Are relays OK? YES - Repair an open in the wire between the HID relay and inverter unit.n NO - Replace the faulty relay and recheck.n |
