| 1. | Remove the steering wheel. |
| 2. | Check for continuity between cable reel subharness 13P connector terminals No. 8 and No. 9.
Is there toggled continuity and no continuity between terminals every time the main switch pushes? YES - Go to 5. NO - Go to 3. |
| 3. | Remove 7SPEED MODE main switch from the steering wheel. |
| 4. | Check for continuity between 7SPEED MODE main switch connector terminals No. 5 and No. 6.
Is there toggled continuity and no continuity between terminals every time the main switch pushes? YES - Replace the cable reel subharness.n |
| 5. | Remove the cable reel. |
| 6. | Check for continuity cable reel 13P connector terminal No. 9 and body ground.
Is there continuity? YES - Go to 7. NO - Repair open in the wire between cable reel 13P connector terminal No. 9 and ground (G402), or repair poor ground (G402).n |
| 7. | Check for continuity between cable reel 13P connector terminal No. 8 and body ground.
Is there continuity? YES - Repair short to ground in the wire between cable reel 13P connector terminal No. 8 and PCM connector terminal C13.n NO - Go to 8. |
| 8. | Turn the ignition switch ON (II), and shift to the D or S position. |
| 9. | Measure the voltage between cable reel 13P connector terminals No. 8 and No. 9.
Is there about 5 V? YES - Replace the cable reel.n NO - Go to 10. |
| 10. | Measure the voltage between PCM connector terminal C13 and body ground.
Is there about 5 V? YES - Repair open in the wire between PCM connector terminal C13 and cable reel 13P connector.n NO - Check for loose or poor connections at PCM connector terminal C13. If the connection is OK, substitute a known-good PCM and recheck.n |
