DTC Troubleshooting: P0795 (32-2)

DTC P0795:

Problem in CVT Start Clutch Pressure Control Valve Circuit

For KB, KE, KG, and KQ Models

• Record all freeze data and review General Troubleshooting Information before you troubleshoot.
• The illustration shows the example of connector terminal arrangement; connector terminal arrangement varies with the models.

1.	Disconnect CVT start clutch pressure control valve connector.

2.	Measure the resistance between connector terminals at the control valve connector.   Is the resistance 3.8-6.8 W? YES - Go to 3. NO - Faulty the CVT start clutch pressure control valve, replace the control valve body.n

3.	Disconnect PCM connectors A (31P).

4.	Check for continuity between PCM connector terminals A3 and body ground, and between A5 and body ground.   Is there continuity? YES - Go to 5. NO - Repair open in the wire between PCM connector terminals A3 and A5, and ground (G101), or repair poor ground (G101).n

5.	Disconnect PCM connectors B (24P) and C (22P).

6.	Check for continuity between PCM connector terminal B16 and body ground.   Is there continuity? YES - Repair short in the wire between PCM connector terminal B16 and CVT start clutch pressure control valve connector.n NO - Go to 7.

7.	Check for continuity between PCM connector terminal C8 and body ground.   Is there continuity? YES - Repair short in the wire between PCM connector terminal C8 and CVT start clutch pressure control valve connector.n NO - Go to 8.

8.	Connect CVT start clutch pressure control valve connector.

Measure the resistance between PCM connector terminals B16 and C8.   Is the resistance 3.8-6.8 W? YES - Update the PCM if it does not have the latest software, or substitute a known-good PCM, then recheck. If the symptom/indication goes away with a known-good PCM, replace the original  PCM.n NO - Go to 10.

10.	Disconnect CVT start clutch pressure control valve connector.

Check for continuity between PCM connector terminal B16 and CVT start clutch pressure control valve connector terminal No. 1.   Is there continuity? YES - Repair loose terminal or open in the wire between PCM connector terminal C8 and CVT start clutch pressure control valve connector.n NO - Repair open in the wire between PCM connector terminal B16 and CVT start clutch pressure control valve connector.n
