DTC Troubleshooting: P0745 (38-2)

DTC P0745:

Problem in CVT Drive Pulley Pressure Control Valve Circuit

For KB, KE, KG, and KQ Models

• Record all freeze data and review General Troubleshooting Information before you troubleshoot.
• The illustration shows the example of connector terminal arrangement; connector terminal arrangement varies with the models.

1.	Disconnect CVT drive pulley pressure control valve connector.

2.	Measure the resistance between connector terminals at the control valve connector.   Is the resistance 3.8-6.8 W? YES - Go to 3. NO - Faulty the CVT drive pulley pressure control valve, replace the control valve body.n

3.	Disconnect PCM connectors A (31P).

4.	Check for continuity between PCM connector terminals A3 and body ground, and between A5 and body ground.   Is there continuity? YES - Go to 5. NO - Repair open in the wire between PCM connector terminals A3 and A5, and ground (G101), or repair poor ground (G101).n

5.	Disconnect PCM connectors B (24P) and C (22P).

6.	Check for continuity between PCM connector terminal B24 and body ground.   Is there continuity? YES - Repair short in the wire between PCM connector terminal B24 and CVT drive pulley pressure control valve connector.n NO - Go to 7.

7.	Check for continuity between PCM connector terminal C16 and body ground.   Is there continuity? YES - Repair short in the wire between PCM connector terminal C16 and CVT drive pulley pressure control valve connector.n NO - Go to 8.

8.	Connect CVT drive pulley pressure control valve connector.

Measure the resistance between PCM connector terminals B24 and C16.   Is the resistance 3.8-6.8 W? YES - Update the PCM if it does not have the latest software, or substitute a known-good PCM, then recheck. If the symptom/indication goes away with a known-good PCM, replace the original  PCM.n NO - Go to 10.

10.	Disconnect CVT drive pulley pressure control valve connector.

Check for continuity between PCM connector terminal B24 and CVT drive pulley pressure control valve connector terminal No. 1.   Is there continuity? YES - Repair loose terminal or open in the wire between PCM connector terminal C16 and CVT drive pulley pressure control valve connector.n NO - Repair open in the wire between PCM connector terminal B24 and CVT drive pulley pressure control valve connector.n
