DTC Troubleshooting: P0811 (43-2)

DTC P0811:  Problem in Start Clutch Control System


For KB, KE, KG, and KQ Models


NOTE:

1.Check whether the another DTC is indicated.

Is the another DTC indicated?


YES - Perform the troubleshooting for the indicated DTC(s), and recheck for DTC P0811 after troubleshooting.


NO - Go to 2.


2.Turn the ignition switch OFF.

3.Disconnect CVT start clutch pressure control valve connector from the control valve body.

4.Start the engine, and shift to the D position.

5.Check if the vehicle moves.

Does the vehicle move?


YES - Go to 6.


NO - Replace the start clutch.n


6.Turn the ignition switch OFF.

7.Connect CVT start clutch pressure control valve connector.

8.Start the engine, and shift to the D position.

9.Check if the vehicle creeps and check the creeping speed on level ground.

Does the vehicle creep and is the creeping speed about 5 km/h (3 mph)?


YES - Go to 10.


NO - Replace the control valve body.n


10.Measure the stall speed RPM in the D, S, L, and R positions.

Is the stall speed over 3,500 rpm (min-1)?


YES - Replace the start clutch.n


NO - Go to 11.


11.Turn the ignition switch OFF.

12.Disconnect CVT start clutch pressure control valve connector from the control valve body.

13.Start the engine, and shift to the D position.

14.Check if the vehicle moves.

Does the vehicle move?


YES - The system is OK, update the PCM if it does not have the latest software, or substitute a known-good PCM, then recheck. If the symptom/indication goes away with a known-good PCM, replace the original  PCM.n


NO - Replace the start clutch.n
