DTC 12, 14, 16, 18: | Wheel Sensor (Electrical Noise/Intermittent Interruption) |
NOTE: If the VSA or ABS indicator comes on because of electrical noise, the indicator will go off when you drive the vehicle over 15 km/h (9 mph) and the noise is gone.
1. | Inspect the appropriate wheel sensor and magnetic encoder.
Are they OK? YES - Go to 2. NO - Reinstall or replace the appropriate wheel sensor or magnetic encoder, and test-drive the vehicle at 15 km/h (9 mph) or more.n |
2. | Disconnect the VSA control unit 46P connector. |
3. | Check for continuity between the appropriate wheel sensor GND terminal and other wheel sensor GND terminals (see table).
Is there continuity? YES - Repair short in the wires between the appropriate wheel sensor and the other wheel sensor.n NO - Clear the DTC, and test-drive the vehicle. If the VSA and ABS indicators comes on and the same DTC is indicated, replace the VSA modulator-control unit.n |
